SuzieQ

SuzieQ Architecture

SuzieQ is an agentless multi-vendor open-core application that works with the network you have.

SuzieQ collects, normalizes, and stores timestamped data that is otherwise only available to engineers by logging into each device, providing a rich data lake that becomes the foundation for automated workflows for day-to-day activities as well as project -specific initiatives.

SuzieQ allows every member of a network team, be they a CLI jockey, a DevOps ninja or GUI lover, to see significant and noticeable gains in making their lives easier.

SuzieQ supports major network vendors, including Arista, Cisco, Cumulus, Juniper, Palo Alto Firewalls, Sonic NOS, and Nokia’s SRLinux. Because it is agentless, SuzieQ has been used to poll devices that are 8 year old running old software versions to their newer versions, and to whitebox OSes such as SONiC and Cumulus.

For each OS, we handle multiple different versions, and keep updating our parsing to match newer versions as they make their way into customer networks.

We gather data from devices using the most efficent method for that device type. We currently support SSH, REST API, JSON RPC and netconf methods to pull the data.

Multi-vendor

SuzieQ Enterprise is more scalable and performant compared to the open source edition. While the open source edition is perfectly capable of scaling up to 100 or 200 devices, SuzieQ Enterprise has been deployed across thousands of devices. We can gather data extremely quickly at scale, and be ready to answer queries almost immediately as the data gather begins.

Thanks to very efficient data storage, you can retain every single piece of data ever collected, without rolling up or deleting, with a relatively small disk space.

Thanks to the more efficient algorithms and libraries, the SuzieQ Enterprise is anywhere from 10x to 1000x faster than the open source edition for the same functionality while using up much less RAM and CPU.

Unlike just about any other tool in the market, SuzieQ offers a powerful, yet network engineer friendly CLI. CLI jockeys can now unleash the power of network operations using a mode they’re most comfortable with. With pop-up help at every step, dynamic completion and more, network engineers can accomplish their day-to-day tasks, however complex, in a snap.

Users can install the CLI on their laptops and have instant access to information as the CLI communicates with the REST server to do all the processing.

RBAC ensures secure and authorized access.

SuzieQ Enterprise ships with an enterprise class GUI. Visualize complex topologies without having to drag nodes around to get an understandable, usable perspective on the network. Revisualize it from the perspective of a different group of nodes, from the perspective of a protocol or VRF and more. We’ve designed the GUI to be ergonomic allowing you to access information without having to go through click hell.

SuzieQ ships with both a python API and a REST API to allow users programmatic access to all the data. The REST API comes with a swagger interface that can be used to try various methods. However, the REST URL is quite similar to the CLI and so it should be easy to construct a REST query. The emphasis even in the API is around ease of use, so that you can get done with the code as quickly and simply as possible while keeping the code readable as well.

SuzieQ is a veritable swiss-army knife when it comes to use cases. If your network team is dealing with any of these issues, SuzieQ can dramatically improve the time it takes to perform these tasks.
